Guest Designer at Dirty Scraps... Woot Woot!!!

The 3rd challenge at Dirty Scraps was all about Broken relationships!!! I wasn't quite sure what I was going to say was broken so I worked on two layouts!!! Wow Thank you so much Pinky for deciding to feature them both! I am honored!!!My first layout out is titled Broken in this Moment and features a poem I wrote after my 1st miscarriage and is a layout about how I let moments break me and make me withdraw in when I should really try and let go and move forward which I am really trying to do, because I have two beautiful girls who right now deserve their Mom at her very best instead of one who sometimes just feels so broken!!!

My next layout is titled, As Broken As It Gets and is a layout about the brother that I have who is in prison! I wasn't sure if I was going to let this layout go or not but I am came to the conclusion that while you may judge me by the words that come from my heart or by my brothers actions, I am simply just wanting to be free of this heavy heart and this heavy mind and become better at being who I want to be!!!
My journal reads this: This is a picture of my brother and I!!! Yes this is the brother that I have who is in prison! So if you are reading this and you know me, even if you don't know me, me and my family are not defined by my brothers actions! It is what he decided to do in one moment that would put him there! If you are wondering that one moment has nothing to do with me but that one moment would definitely break this relationship and throw all trust out the window! Take note that in no way, shape, or form, do I agree with what he did at all!!! AT ALL!!! I tried to be supportive of my brother though but not the way that you might think!!! I just mean I wouldn't want to be stuck in that place all alone, so I would take the phone calls, the letters, and I would even go visit him a few times which really creeped me out because you have all of these inmates with family and friends all squished together in one room! So this relationship is broken and no matter how hard one might try and get it back it will always remain broken. There will always be a strain or tension there and once you lose trust with somebody it is very hard to get or gain it back, if at all possible! The letters have stopped coming, the calls don't come anymore because somehow my phone started blocking them, and I don't remember the last time I went to visit, so for me this relationship is As Broken As It Gets!!!

With these Girls... I am Forever Changed

This is my second challenge for the Dirty Scraps Blog(http://dirtyscraps.blogspot.com/) in which you scrap a pivotal point in your life!!! I chose my pivotal points to be the birth of my girls although I believe life is made up of many pivotal points!!! When it comes down to it these are the two moments that I had been waiting for all of my life and the two most changing, as of now!!! I'm in the process of trying to change myself, so that I may be better for them!!! Not that I am not good for them now!!! These girls are my greatest joys!!! So this week I didn't get real Dirty or go too deep but I think my small amount of journaling says enough!!! Thanks for looking!!! Take Care and Have fun!!!

My journaling reads: In one moment you whole life can change! Isn't that crazy? I believe life is made up of many pivotal moments!!! These are the two most beautiful and important moments of my life! Sometimes change is good!

Cool stuff that I used: sketch from pagemaps(http://www.pagemaps.com/), Prima Paper from Nursery Tales( Shimmery Pink and Glitter Diamond), Small Floral piece from DCVW Once Upon a Time Stack, Jolee's Boutique Together Blossoms, EK Success Cherry Blossoms, EK Success Alpha Mod Script Black for title, Small letters for daughters names Daisy d's Sweet Baby Jane Rub On Transfer Book

This is me...

So my friend put a bug in my ear about a blog that was just starting up called Dirty Scraps founded by a woman named Pinky and when I went to the site and saw her first challenge I knew it was definitely a challenge that I wanted to do!!! The challenge was to scrap one of your peeves and then in turn put what you have learned from it!!! This challenge was somewhat liberating for me as I truly scrapped what was in my heart, sometimes I forget how to use my voice and this woman Pinky made me dig deep and express myself in the best way I know how, creatively!!! My page's intent is solely to get what I needed to get out of my heart so I can move forward and is in no way shape or form meant to hurt anyone!!! That is what was in there and it just needed to come!!! This is the first scrapbook page that I have done in a very long time as my two year and one year old keep me very busy but a big Thanks to this woman named Pinky because that was something I have needed to do for a very long time, just get what I needed to get out!!! So here is the blog and my take on her first challenge!!! Take Care and Have fun!!!

The Apple Of My Eye

So I have been trying to organize my scraproom and I have a pile of scrapbook pages that are just waiting to be finished, so tonight I went in a picked this one out of the pile!!! It was done, all I needed to do was add a photo!!! It is a picture of my little chica, who isn't so little anymore!!! Two and a half years old and already too big for her britches!!! Hahaha!!! I love this photo and when I heard this song, I knew I had to use it!!! It is the sweetest kids song, sung in the sweetest little girls voice!!! My photo isn't that great so I will type the words for you and try and link you to the song on the internet!!! This is definitely one of my favorite pages and I even have part of the recording on my scrapbook page, so that makes it even cooler for me and hopefully for her when she grows up and appreciates it!!! Thanks for looking!!! Oh and I apologize for the picture quality, I'm still new at all of this!!! Now the words to the song:

You're my Honeybunch, Sugarplum, Pumpy-umpy-umpkin,

You're my Sweetie Pie,

You're my Cuppycake, Gumdrop, Snoogums-Boogums,

You're the Apple of my Eye.

And I love you so

and I want you to know

That I'll always be right here

And I love to sing sweet songs to you

Because you are so dear!!!

Rainbow Connection

Okay so we had a few little thunderstorms here, not like the ones in Atlanta but hey I'm not complaining any thunderstorm will do!!! I love thunderstorms!!! They are quite awe inspiring!!! God's personal little light show!!! I love listening to the rumbles!!! There is just something about laying in bed, listening to the rumbles, and watching the light show that is quite soothing!!! And getting the giggles when my little LJ says "Oh I hungry" after every little rumble, thinking it's her little tummy growling!!! It's quite cute!!! Tonight the sun came out in the mist of the rain and I caught some pictures of the rainbow!!! I am not much of a church goer!!! I was when I was younger!!! However I am a very spiritual woman and have a very strong faith in God, I lost it once when I was going through my miscarriages as I was struggling and feeling very lost and alone!!! To lose sight of God for a split second was heartbreaking because He is such a constant in my life!!! SO I quickily turned back, fully realizing that it wasn't all up to me, to put my trust in Him, sort of hand it all over to him and take one step, one day at a time!!! I sort of adopted the whatever gets me to and through the next phase attitude and focused on getting through all of the small hurdles to get me to my biggest dream come true!!! She was born May 2007 and her sister October 2008!!! They are the loves of my life!!! So enough of my ramblings, tonight through the storm I saw the rainbow much like I have in the past, only tonight was literally and I got some pictures and thought I would place them here!!! A rainbow a symbol of God's promise, that no matter how much you mess up, how much you may lose faith, He loves you and is fighting in your corner!!! Take care!!! Oh an I thought I would post a few rainbow quotes, as I had to find some since I am a scrapper!!! Here you go:
The soul would have no rainbow had the eyes no tears.John Vance Cheney

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you do the work.

In order to have friendship you must look past the color to the soul, because within the soul lies a rainbow of many colors.

May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.Irish Blessings quotes

Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep believing, the dream that you wish will come true.
Dream is a Wish in Your Heart

Paint a rainbow inside of you, paint a rainbow, let your smile shine through. When it's cold and gray, push the clouds away, paint a rainbow in your heart.

The only way to see a rainbow is to look through the rain.

My heart leaps up when I beholdA rainbow in the sky.” William Wordsworth

Cookie Lollipops- A Taste of Home Recipe

1 package (12 ounces) vanilla chips

2 tbsp shortening, divided

1 package (16 ounces) double stuff Oreo cookies

32 wooden popsicle or craft sticks

1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

1.In microwave, melt the vanilla chips and 1 tbsp shortening for 1 min; stir. Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals, stirring until smooth.

2. Twist apart the cookies. Dip the end of each popsicle stick into the melted white chocolate and place on cookie half and then top with other half.

3. Place cookies on a waxed paper lined baking sheet and freeze for 15 minutes. Reheat white chocolate if necessary. Dip frozen cookies into chocolate until completely covered, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Return them to their baking sheets and freeze for 30 minutes longer or until set.

4. Melt chocolate chips and remaining shortening, stir until smooth. Drizzle over cookies. Store cookies in an airtight container.

These are definitely going in my recipe box!!! They were so easy, so fast, and I enjoyed making them!!! Not to mention that they are quite tasty and satisfy these sweet tooths!!! My little Lonnie enjoyed having one all to herself!!! I chose to add some sprinkles to spruce up mine!!! Imagine the possibilities!!! Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!!! Now go, create something, and Have Fun!!!
